~My Greatest Fears~

Look up
Reaching
Erased it all

It's killing me as if I'd like to die,
Burning muscles and veins,
Can't see what I'm running from,
It's too dark,

I'm trapped in a box and I'm scared,
Send for help,
There's no cure for uncertainty,
There's no cure for what I can't see,

The face of every card on the table holds all of my greatest fears,
Everything you ever denied is revealing itself as truth,
I kneel to wash your feet,
I'm sorry that I ever tried to look outside,

Write a letter to that dying friend,
Not seeking anything or crumbling beneath the weight of guilt,
Hold on to it,
A few more days won't hurt,

Wish there was more time,
Look up to see that night has fallen,
Reaching for the phone remembering that no one will answer,
Erased it all and started over to reach the end with very little.
